Job Description

Position: Consumer Services Temporary Claim Assistant

Basic duties/responsibilities:
Coordinate and handle routine departmental operations and assist in the
daily execution of these with departmental growth.

Handle routine claim and technical related duties including:
1. Telephone communications related to claims qualification, filing, processing, product installation and information and general inquiries
2. Accurately registering and processing of claims information received using People Soft Computer System
3. Monitoring claims process activity of all residential plants
4. Written correspondence (claim information request, 2nd homeowner denials using Micro Soft Word)
5.Input data for check vouchers
6. Utilization of office equipment (PC, Calculator, People Soft word and Excel)
7. General office duties such as record keeping, filing
8.Review claim information received for accuracy and correct charge designation
9. Calculation of warranty pro-rated material settlements

Maintain working knowledge of; warranties, products and their use and
application procedures, sales territories/personnel, designated product areas,
People Soft claims system program, and claim process procedures.

Maintain professional image and relationship with customers, both internal and
external.

Specific Responsibility Requirements:

1 Confidential Information/Documents: Ability to work with and keep extreme confidentiality of information and documents
2. Record/Reports: Ability to organize, understand and accurately work with records and reports
3. Equipment/Material/Products/Etc.: Ability to utilize and generally maintain equipment and material, and have a good working knowledge of products, product changes, warranty changes, product bundle wrappers, and information updates

5. Judgmental/analytical ability required: Nature of job requires above average analytical and judgmental capability

6. Financial Accountability: (degree of care/attention required to prevent increased
cost/losses & dollars position is responsible for, where application) extreme care
related to the ability to interpret and calculate warranty settlements per the differing terms of the applicable warranties

7. Specialized skills/manual dexterity required: Above average telephone and written communication skills, people and stress management skills, and must have
computer/word skills (experience in excel and excel graph helpful).

8.Decision Making Requirements: Must have above average ability to make
decisions within position perimeters

Job Requirements

Education:
Minimum - High School education with some basic college courses/relative training courses.

Experience:
Two years experience in handling claims, or sales and public relations with general office and computer experience preferred.

Pay is $14-$18/hr DOE
