Job Description
The Plant Maintenance Generalist is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on plant facilities and equipment. This role ensures that all machinery operates smoothly, efficiently, and safely, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of various maintenance functions, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and carpentry. This individual will assist in production support, including packaging, when production is in process.
Essential Functions Perform highly diversified duties across the plant facility.
Perform Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on plant equipment, building structure and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and avoid breakdowns. Repair Equipment: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and carpentry issues and perform necessary repairs on machinery, equipment and building.
Install New Equipment: Assist in the installation of new machinery, including electrical wiring, piping, and other necessary components.
Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with machinery and equipment, determining the most effective solutions to maintain operational efficiency.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Promote a safe working environment by following proper safety protocols.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status. Update maintenance logs and system documentation as required.
Support Production: Work closely with production teams to understand equipment issues and prioritize maintenance tasks to minimize impact on production schedules.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts, placing orders as necessary to ensure timely availability.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and reduce operational costs.
Emergency Response: Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner to minimize downtime and ensure production continuity.
Budget: Forecast and track annual maintenance expenses.
Supervise: Supervise hired contractors that perform facility maintenance support.

Job Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance or a related field preferred.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in plant maintenance or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with hand and power tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, work orders and automated systems

Fluent in English
Strong written and verbal communication skills

COMPUTER SKILLS
Required- Basic Microsoft 365 software familiarity (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint)
Physical demands:
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in plant maintenance or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
